2. UDCT/ICT: Institute of Chemical Technology, formerly the University Department of Chemical Technology, is a premier chemical technology research institute located in Mumbai. It is focused on training and research in various branches of chemical engineering, chemical technology, and pharmacy. It was established in 1933 and was granted deemed university status in 2008. 3. VJTI: Yet another engineering college famous across the country after the IITs. It is an autonomous institute with high quality students. Top notch placements amongst the Tier 2 colleges in India. Again, this institute is also located in Matunga, Mumbai. Founded in 1887, it is one of oldest engineering colleges in Asia.

4. SPCE/SPIT: Inaugrated by then Prime Minister: Pt Jawaharlal Nehru, SPCE/SPIT is equally famous as VJTI and has comparable quality of students and placements as VJTI. It has two wings SPCE and SPIT. SPCE(for core engineering branches like civil, mechanical, civil etc) is aided and has less fees compared to SPIT(for electronics and Computer related courses). SPCE is autonomous whereas SPIT is a recently founded division of the institute and comes under Mumbai University. Located in Andheri, this institute has got a wonderful campus and has lot of extracurricular activities going on.
